Question: How did your pediatrician inspire you to become a scientist?

Basically by talking with me.

I was pretty weak as a kid. I got fever, stomachache, and rash a lot. I ask my pediatrician how/why this would happen to me when I visit her. She is a such a patient and nice person. She would explain to me how my body react to the virus/bacteria that I encountered. All the symptoms are merely the results of this process. Sometimes when she can not answer my questions, she would say : why not you become a scientist and figure it out for us : )

She passed away two years ago. I will always miss her.
