      That’s a very good question. You will learn a lot about that in your high school Biology class. Briefly, yes, your genetic material come from your parents, and their genetic material come from your grandparents. You get about half of your genes from your mom and the other half from your dad. When these genes are passed on to you, they got rearranged a little bit. The rearrangement is mostly random, which might explain why you are different from your brother or sister.
