Thanks for the question Lana! I always liked science classes in school. They always seemed like solving puzzles, trying to get to the answers, a bit like detective work. Particularly biology and mathematics were my favorite subjects. That is how I decided to study biology and food engineering (some math!) in college. I was fascinated by genetics classes and how we can compare genes across plants, animals and other organisms. So, I decided to ask specific genetics questions and do research on these by pursuing a career in science.
