Hi Em,
My favorite is cat, especially a breed called ragdoll. They are playful and loving. I’ll keep one when I have my own house.

I love dogs too!!! But dogs are for families. You will have to walk them and play with them. And they get depressed if they don’t have enough attention. At my stage, cats are simply more practical. In a dream life, I would have a cat, a dog and a parrot!

I agree! Dogs require much more attention compared to cats, and during busy times (like PhD) it gets even harder to take care of a dog.
I would love to have a cat in the future as well, even have a name ready! I think I would prefer a cat with some dog characteristics, playful, loyal etc 🙂
